Join the elite team of volunteers at the Astra Film Festival

AFF2026 will take place in Sibiu from 17 to 25 October

Astra Film Festival, Eastern Europe’s leading documentary film festival, is currently finalising its elite team for the 2026 edition, which will take place in Sibiu from 17 to 25 October. Depending on the preferences expressed and the positions available, volunteers will be assigned to nine departments and will receive specific training. From this year onwards, they will have their own social media channels at their disposal to share their festival experience in their own style.

 Nine departments

 When completing the application form (available here: https://astrafilm.ro/form-voluntari/), candidates can choose to work in one of the eight departments. They will subsequently receive specific training.

•  Astra Film Junior: support for activities aimed at children and teenagers, from welcoming groups to guiding them around the festival venues.

• Info Point: you will be one of the points of contact for the public, providing information about the programme, venues, events and access.

• Guest: you will work with the festival’s guests, welcoming them and supporting them throughout the event.

• Logistics and Technical: for those who want to see how the festival works behind the scenes and get involved in preparing venues, materials and equipment.

• Screening Venues and Locations: you’ll work directly with the public in the festival’s venues and locations, from managing access and providing directions to supporting the on-site team.

• Crisis Management and Administrative Support: a dynamic department for those who adapt easily and can step in wherever the team needs support.

• Photo and Video Team: you’ll document the festival through photography and video, capturing the events and atmosphere at the venues.

• Media / Social Media Content Creators: you’ll create content for TikTok, Instagram and the festival’s other channels, and work alongside the Communications team.

• Public Speaking: this role is designed for those who want to get involved in Q&A sessions, interact with guests and the audience, and practise speaking in front of people.
