What is Astra Film DocStudentHub

A training platform for film students

A program developed by UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” Bucharest and Astra Film Festival, which continues with the help of Erasmus+ the well-established practices of Astra Film Festival, spanning three decades, of attracting generations of students to be introduced to the documentary film community.

Participants have the opportunity to take part in workshops, masterclasses, and practical activities in the field of documentary film art, production, and distribution.

What to expect from the program

Participants will take part in various activities during the 32nd edition of the Astra Film Festival:

participation in masterclasses held by professors from partner universities in Europe
familiarization with different approaches to cinema, from the perspective of professors from partner universities
participation in courses and activities related to documentary film
participation in film screenings from the Student Competition and active involvement in Q&A sessions
general access to screenings and events within the festival

Participation as observers in the film project presentation sessions (pitching sessions) within the Astra Film DocTank industry program. The practical component of the program focuses on practicing analysis, presentation, and public moderation skills, conducting Q&A sessions after the screening of films in the DocSchool competition section.
